The Prudent Person

The Prudent Person

A “prudent person” is one who carefully considers how their actions (or inactions) will affect the future. As it pertains to insurance, a “prudent person” takes the necessary steps to protect themselves & their property from potential loss.

The deck collapse in North Carolina is an example where a prudent person would question the safety of their guests on a 30-year old deck.

Just as a prudent person would question the safety of setting off fireworks on top of their head.

Insurance is there to cover the “sudden & accidental” and not intentional damage or damage that has occurred over a period of time.

Look over your property through the eyes of a “prudent person”, do you see any potential claims that could happen?

Fireworks Safety

Fireworks Safety

This time of year we think of grilling out, camping, and of course fireworks! Of course we want you to be safe this holiday weekend, but we also want you to be educated as well.

Fireworks were first developed in China around the 7th century. They were used in celebrations, thought also to ward off evil spirits and bring forth luck & happiness.

Firework injuries vary, with the most happening to the head/eyes/hands. Be safe if you are a 25-44 year old male as you are the most-likely to get injured from fireworks.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has a list of tips for being safe while handling & enjoying fireworks.

Here’s a Roman Candle Battle that just occurred last month in Chicago showing how dangerous they can be.
